Scanning

Beacon's scanning service includes a high-resolution scan that will be sent to the customer by email in jpg format or shared via USB thumb drive or cloud service. The scanned images can then be used to create copies, enlargements and/or restorations.  For most printed photos the resolution will be at 300 - 600 dpi and for negatives and slides they will scanned at 1200 dpi. These scans can be of a printed image, a negative, slide or glass plate. When the original image is too large to be scanned (larger than a 16x20), we offer photo capture using a professional camera, tripod, and studio lighting.
